MICRONEEDLING + PRP

Microneedling is a minimally-invasive procedure that uses a device with tiny, shallow needles that create hundreds of invisible and controlled puncture wounds on the top layer of the skin. (Don’t worry — you’ll be numbed!) These micro-wounds trigger the body to produce new collagen, elastin and capillaries, plumping skin and breaking up scar tissue. A series of treatments will result in improved skin texture, firmness and hydration.

We combine microneedling treatments with platelet rich plasma (PRP) for the ultimate skin rejuvenation. By adding PRP microneedling you get better results and less downtime. Microneedling with PRP results in a 1,000% increase in collagen. Microneedling is a suitable treatment for every skin type and is safe for pregnant women (but always check with your OBGYN first). PRP speeds up your healing time and downtime lasts 24-72 hours.

Why Microneedling?

  • Improves appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and laxity
  • Shrinks large pores
  • Helps fade pigmentation, acne scars, and superficial scars
  • Improves the appearance of cellulite and small stretch marks

NORDLYS LASER

FRAX 1550

The Frax 1550 is a fractional laser used to resurface and rejuvenate the skin. It is the Nordlys-powered alternative to the popular Fraxel device. In clinical trials, 100% of patients saw textural improvements.

The infrared laser energy emitted by Frax 1550 targets the water in your surface skin cells, vaporizing them. Fractional laser treatments are non-ablative. That’s because the laser beam is fractionated, or broken up into tiny fractions, which target only 25% to 40% of the skin, reducing your recovery time.

Benefits of Frax 1550 treatment:

  • Visibly reduces scars and wrinkles in as little as one treatment
  • Stimulates the skin’s natural healing process to produce new and vibrant cells
  • Sweeps away old and damaged skin cells, including scar tissue and sun damaged skin.
  • Stimulates collagen production
  • Can rejuvenate more resilient skin on the hands, neck, and décolletage

What can I expect during the treatment?

During your visit, your skin is cleansed first and a topical numbing is applied to minimize any discomfort. The Frax 1550 implements the SoftCool skin cooler to help reduce discomfort during treatment, however you will feel a warm prickly sensation. After treatment, cooling gel will be applied to your skin.

What to expect after treatment?

Immediately after the treatment, a pink or “sunburn” appearance and feeling is common. The first two days post-treatment, most patients report mild redness and swelling. During the first 2-5 days post-treatment patients also experience mild dryness and flaking as the skin exfoliates. We recommend using a gentle facial cleanser, moisturizer, and SPF 30 or greater at all times throughout the treatment course.

How many treatments will I need?

The number of treatments varies depending on the treatment indication and severity. We recommend a series of 3 treatments, although more treatments might be required depending on your skin concerns. Treatments should be spaced 4-6 weeks apart. Patients will begin to see results after the first treatment and will continue to see improvement up to one-year post-treatment.

IPL

Photo rejuvenation treatments remove sun damage, age spots, dilated capillaries, diffuse redness and uneven pigment. The IPL can treat the face as well as skin throughout the rest of the body like the neck, chest, and arms. IPL improves the quality of the skin via gentle collagen stimulation, producing healthier and smoother skin tone and texture. IPL can also be used to treat rosacea and acne.

IPL is comfortable to patients with no significant downtime. Immediately following your IPL treatment, your skin may show mild redness. This is usually no more intense than a mild to moderate sunburn. There may also be some darkening and peeling of pigmented lesions for up to 10 days.

CO2RE LASER

The CO2RE by Syneron Candela is a fractional CO2 laser used for skin rejuvenation, reducing the appearance of age spots, fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, skin laxity, textural irregularities, dull skin tone and a thinned collagen layer of the face, neck, and chest. The CO2RE features a unique dual laser wave that can be adjusted to penetrate the skin at both superficial and deep levels simultaneously.

CO2RE treatment is the best treatment if you wish to get the most results with one treatment and have the ability to take some time to heal (usually 7-14 days). Having this treatment is like having multiple non-invasive treatments at once. It is the best single treatment for advanced skin damage and wrinkling. It is also used to treat acne scarring and to improve the appearance of surgical scars and burns.

What is CO2RE?

The CO2RE is the latest generation fractional carbon dioxide laser system allowing resurfacing of the skin by removing layers of skin tissue in a fractionated method. The laser pulses are used to create microscopic holes in the skin. This precise and controlled damage created by the laser induces the body to initiate natural healing processes, leading to new and healthy skin.

What can I expect during the treatment?

The CO2RE is an in-office procedure that requires pre and post-treatment medications and strict adherence to post-procedure guidelines to ensure proper healing and comfort during the procedure. Discomfort varies on the depth of the treatment. For your comfort, we will apply a topical anesthetic to help reduce discomfort.

What to expect after the treatment?

Immediately following the procedure you can expect a sensation similar to a sunburn, lasting several hours. You can expect swelling and peeling of dead skin from the treatment areas. This is a natural exfoliation process that may last 7-10 days. Strict adherence to post-operative guidelines is important for optimal healing. The use of a moisturizer and sunscreen is important during the healing process and for the weeks and months following treatment. You will see a significant improvement within a month but results will continue to improve for 4-6 months.

How many treatments will I need?

Typically one CO2RE laser treatment is recommended. Occasionally, in an area that cannot be treated aggressively, additional treatments might be required. For more advanced signs of aging, such as deeper wrinkles, or severe skin laxity, two or three treatments may be required to achieve the best result. Multiple treatments might also be required for the treatment of acne scarring, surgical scarring, or burns.

LASER HAIR REMOVAL

The GentleMax Pro™ is the gold standard for effective hair removal in all skin types. The GentleMax Pro™ excels in providing safe, high speed, effective laser hair removal with high patient satisfaction and comfort. Typically, permanent hair removal requires 4-6 treatments, but some patients require more. The fee for hair removal depends on the size of the area, and we are happy to provide you with more information when you call.

Is the laser hair removal procedure painful?

Our lasers utilize a special patented cooling system that lowers the temperature of the skin at the procedure site before, during, and after laser exposure. It is almost painless. No local anesthesia or pain medication is required.

What should I do before the procedure?

You must thoroughly shave your hair preferably the same day of the procedure. Avoid indoor or outdoor tanning and use of self tanning products for approximately four weeks. Do not wax, tweeze dye hair or have electrolysis six weeks prior to the procedure. Avoid skin care products with irritants such as glycolic acid or retinol in the procedure area for one week.

What should I expect following the laser hair removal procedure?

Once the laser hair removal procedure is complete you are free to return to your normal activities immediately. Some clients may experience a slight reddening around the hair follicles immediately following the procedure. This reaction typically disappears within a few hours. The use of sunscreen at or above 25 SPF is recommended on all skin areas exposed to the sun for approximately the next four weeks following the laser procedure. It is also recommended that the client avoid heavy sun exposure for the next four weeks. Application of ice or aloe gel after the procedure will generally facilitate healing and cooling.

CHEMICAL PEELS

MICROPEEL

A superficial peel to gently exfoliate all types of skin, decongest pores, hydrate skin, and improve visible signs of photodamage. No downtime.

ADVANCED CORRECTIVE PEEL

A medium depth peel to diminish discoloration, smooth texture, and refine the appearance of pores for brighter skin. Expect 7-14 days of redness and peeling.

TCA PEEL

A deep peel to improve moderate to advanced fine lines and wrinkles and fade hyperpigmentation. Expect 7-14 days of redness and peeling.

PRP INJECTIONS

PRP, or platelet-rich plasma, involves the use of platelets taken from your own blood and incorporated into microneedling, facial and/or scalp injections. We offer PRP injections for hair restoration and tear trough rejuvenation. There is no downtime but bruising can occur.

Platelets have beneficial properties and growth factors that stimulate collagen formation and accelerate healing. Once injected into the skin or applied topically to the skin, PRP stimulates new collagen production, reduces wrinkles, and diminishes the visible signs of aging by growing new healthy tissue. Post-procedure use of PRP with microneedling treatments decreases healing time and produces additional overall benefits.

The most common reason for hair loss, affecting over 80 million men and women in the US, is familial or male/female pattern hair loss (alopecia). Both prescription topical and oral medications have been shown to help male/female pattern hair loss, especially when combined with platelet-rich plasma. PRP is rich in growth factors and when injected in the scalp at the level of the hair follicle, these growth factors may reinvigorate dormant hair follicles, stimulating new hair growth. We offer PRP injections for hair loss for appropriate candidates.
