Shuaib "Shuaiby" Aslam[1]† (February 29, 2000 - March 14, 2018 [aged 18])[1], under the former YouTube alias ofzlXero, was a Pakistani teenager who resided in the United States. He had a YouTube channel where he streamed his suicide on March 14, 2018.Aslam made his channel at 11 years old on Christmas 2011. Aslam was openly depressed.[1]He was a fan of anime and claimed he watched it "to survive".[2]This further showed that Aslam had mental health issues, which later would come to head on 2018. Aslam was what others called socially autistic.[3]He also had dreams of starting massacres at his school which later faded away, meanwhile not making him any better and as a result, causing the loss of trust from his parents.[4]He did, however, have access to a gun, which his parents did nothing to, only helping it become part of his downfall in 2018.[4]On March 14, 2018, Aslam was in contact with some of his friends. After exchanging his last few text messages with his friends, he started a call with them, where he asked them to start recording and asked whether or not they could hear them. They complied, but one was crying and begging Aslam not to commit suicide. Due to his attitude and occasional laughs, one of the friends thought he was joking. Unfortunately, it wasn't, and the begging from his friends to reconsider his suicide was to no avail. Aslam had two notes; one that said "Goodbye /r9k/", a reference to the 4chan board he frequented most. The note also had the exact date this took place. Another note said something in the same league of "Goodbye mom". Said note also asked her not to let the kids not to see presumably his body.
Aslam had also started a livestream on his channel and sent it to his friends, which at the time he only had 18 subscribers on YouTube. He had started a livestream originally titled "it's time", but was stopped after 20 seconds due to technical difficulties. He then started "Hey", this livestream in question went on for a mere 49 minutes and 42 seconds. Said livestream was also taken down, presumably by YouTube, likely due to TOS violations; it is likely that Aslam received a Community Guidelines Strike as a result of the stream's takedown. He was wearing a neck gaiter mask with a cat mouth barfing rainbow, a black beanie, a navy blue shirt reading "NIKE SB", and black shorts. Behind him was a blue tarp which was presumably there to prevent the spread of debris. Aslam also showed 6 minutes in that despite losing his parents' trust, he hadn't lost access to his gun. He, aged 18, would then commit suicide by gunshot. The shot knocked over the camera and the tarp. As the stream continued, his friends would then express their sadness of what had just happened. His mom would also walk into his room and started crying, later lifting out the tarp and screaming after seeing Aslam's body.
His suicide was broadcasted to the 4chan boards he frequented. Multiple debunked rumors also spread regarding the suicide, one of which relating to /r9k/'s femboy cult. It was determined that none of these rumors are true and that he only took his life due to his lack of mental health.[5]
He was memorialized on Find a Grave, with many still mourning his death to this day.[1
