Celebrate dads with these fun Oregon products and experiences (2024)

It’s no secret dads can be harder to shop for than moms. And when you ask dads if they want or need anything, chances are, they come up with nothing. We’ve rounded up some of the best things to present dads with this year. Whether you’re gifting him with a product or an experience, remember that it’s all about the time you spend together.

Shwood Eyewear Sunglasses

Give dad the coolest shades from Shwood Eyewear, a Portland-based company that launched in 2009 making wood frames inspired by nature, namely the madrone tree. Today the brand offers an assortment of unisex sunglasses across different frame materials, including stone, oxidized copper and glass. The wood collection is the company’s best-selling original. I’m a huge fan of the CAMP group, which showcases plant-based bioplastic, offering durability and comfort for active dads. Prices start at $50.

Salishan Coastal Lodge

Perhaps a memorable experience trumps a physical gift for you and your dad. If he’s into golf, book him a stay at the Salishan Coastal Lodge in Gleneden Beach. The luxury hotel owned by SCP Hotels features an unlimited golf package on the resort’s 18-hole golf course, which was restored in 2004 under the direction of PGA Tour Pro Peter Jacobsen along with his design firm, Jacobsen-Hardy Golf Design.

Beyond tee time, the resort has an award-winning spa that offers massages, body treatments, and facials. Spa amenities include hot tubs, saunas, and a relaxation lounge. Resort guests can take daily yoga sessions to stretch and relieve stress and tension, led by Arielle Beauduy, who owns nearby Luminous Soul Center, a sanctuary for health and healing.

Make reservations at The Attic, serving Oregon coastal fare with a focus on fresh ingredients and sustainability. While all plates are super well-curated, you can’t go wrong with their special house-made sourdough crust pizzas, their burgers, and the Carlton Farms Grass Fed Beef Ribeye.
